Garmisch partenkirchen

We had the most perfect breakfast of coffee and a pastry right outside a little bakery in Rothenberg. Then we caught the train to Garmisch Partenkirchen.  There were 4 train changes, each entertaining.  One was full of drunk soccer fans, one with some Australians who were so much fun to talk with, one crazy leg into Munich...lots of apparent immigrants and then the gorgeous ride to Garmisch.
Don is now passed out at 7:30 after much dark beer, a rosti plate and a huge dish of sourbraten.
Views of the Zugspitz are stupendous.  Maybe we won't leave...

  1. Hey you two, where are the pictures? How do you like using the trains? Barb and I both love that area of Germany. Sorry your only doing three weeks?

  2. So good to read your adventures. You picked the best time to be away--cold, wet, raw in the Mt Washington Valley. Sophie barks hi
